Final Report: Discussion

Even though the car-race portion of the game is over, students can continue to accrue points by engaging in the discussion portion of the game. The reports section for the discussion page provides comments from all the students in the class that receive the most “thumbs up” or liked feedback, and those that receive the most “thumbs down” or disliked feedback. The “thumbs down” comments should be used to monitor any inappropriate or off-topic comments.

The individual student reports section is rich with information. The report provides information, for each student, on the number of “thumbs up” or likes and number of “thumbs down” or dislikes that are both given and received. It also calculates the number of comments that each student provided to others, and the number they received.

The transcript of each student’s comments allows for a complete look at individual interactions. This information can be used to monitor interaction as well as identify any misconception about the process of discourse.
